Finalization of the preparatory stage of Green PROTE-Quest Tech Project for Moldova
30.06.2024
The green PROTE-Quest Tech addresses the widespread problem of impaired tap water quality due to rusty pipelines with lots of scale and deposits, resulting in the so-called secondary pollution of the distributed water. Together with its three local partners, Apa-Canal Chisinau, Servicii Publice Cimislia, and ConsulTrans Grup SRL, PROTE is working towards implementing the PROTE-Quest Tech in Moldova through a two-spot pilot.
The last four months have been a time of intensive preparations for the pilot implementation of the Green PROTE-Quest technology on two Moldovan waterworks - Apa-Canal in Chisinau and Serivicii Publice Cimislia. We have held numerous online meetings, conversations, and consultations and exchanged e-mail correspondence with the management staff of the abovementioned water supply companies, as well as engineers responsible for water distribution. As part of these meetings, PROTE experts obtained information from Moldovan specialists about the current conditions in the water supply network, agreed on the places in the network where our installations are to be connected, and configured appropriate dosing stations. Of course, we have not forgotten about formalities such as registering the Project in the Republic of Moldova and obtaining the approval of the local Institute of Public Health for the SeaQuest preparation envisaged for the pilot.
The forthcoming steps, which we are looking forward to, include obtaining an agreement from the Republic of Moldova authorities, which will enable us to proceed with the transportation of all the elements needed for the Project to Moldova and start the Project`s next stage: the Tech implementation and providing workshops for engineers from the Moldovan water utilities.
The Project called Green PROTE-Quest Tech for Moldova: Improved Drinking Water Distribution System`s Energy Efficiency & Hydraulic Performance is implemented by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) through the Polish Challenge Fund, with the financial support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland.
